East Shore ~ Maui, HI
The eastern facing shores of Maui exercise a bit of a fickle nature....Unless you are in the know...and know what time of day to go! The best place to catch the surf is at Homoa Beach Park in Hana.
South Shore ~ Maui, HI
The areas of Lahaina and Kihei get the majority of the southern swells that hit Maui. The south swells tend to hit in the summer/spring months. The top surfing destinations for South Maui are Ma'ala'ea, and Honolua Bay. Both surf breaks feature some of the fastest, tightest largest barrels anywhere!
North Shore ~ Maui, HI
The areas of Haiku, Paia and Kahului, get most of Maui's North swells. The winter is the most active period for larger surf, however, this is combined with Maui's year long dramatic Trade-winds.
Ho'okipa is the Norths shores top surf spot, featuring a large coral reef offering three separate breaks when the waves are up.
